Programs for Schools

Our International Presenters Program has placed interns throughout the world, with more than 6,000 interns in America alone. IIP offers schools and host families the unique experience of developing an awareness of cultural diversity through learning about Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Thai people, their culture, customs and traditions.

Benefits to Host School

  • Presenters (Interns) work voluntarily in schools bringing a valuable cultural exchange experience
  • Interns play a multi-dimensional role based on school needs - cultural presenter / language instructor / assistant teacher

Among others, students have the opportunity to learn:

  • A variety of languages: (Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Thai )
  • Traditional cultural arts: (calligraphy, paper folding, tea ceremony, etc.)
  • Traditional cultural performance: (tea ceremony, dance, music, etc.)
  • Traditional sports and games: (Taekwondo, Sumo, children's games, etc.)
  • Current lifestyles: (school life, housing, foods, cooking, etc.)
  • The program promotes variety, as presenters share their own unique experiences and skills.

Background of Presenters

IIP Presenters come from diverse backgrounds. IIP accepts applicants on the basis of their personality, communicative ability, experience and purpose in participating. Typically, most presenters are in their 20's and 30's and are in, or have recently graduated from, higher education. Although some may have experience as teachers in their own country, many presenters are students or ordinary citizens eager to share their culture and language as volunteer teaching assistants.

International Presenters are deeply committed to sharing their culture and language with the world through a diverse range of activities, but some additional reasons they may join the program include:

  • Improving communication and foreign language skills
  • Learning about educational systems overseas
  • Challenging themselves in preparation for future careers
  • Experiencing daily life in another culture and developing an international mind-set
